First Day of official tryouts is August 11,2008.
Reminder that all paperwork is due the first day of Tryouts. You must have a physical dated after June 1, 2008 and all other
paper work must be completed before you can tryout. Make sure that your doctor has signed and dated
page 4. Bring both running shoes and your complete soccer equipment to all sessions.
Testing Days
Any player trying out for soccer this fall and would like to complete the timed run early,
can do so on at the following times.
Thursday, August 7th at
6:00 p.m.
Friday, August 8th at 9:00 a.m.
Anyone who wants to do this, must turn in his complete paperwork at that time. Any player that does not attempt the run early will do so on the 11th.
PIAA New Shinguard Rule
Shinguards must meet the National Operating Committee on Standards
for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) standard effective with the 2008-09 season.A change in shinguard requirements approved last
year aimed at reducing the risk of injury had been delayed one year.
The
PIAA has just made a change for the 2008-2009 season
re: the physical form.
These are the specifics:
1. All physicals must be on or after June
1, 2008.
2. All physicals will expire on May 31, 2009. We will no longer use the one year from the date of
their physical. Much easier.
3. If you submit the form for a fall sport and then go on to play a winter or
spring sport, the parent will now need to complete page 5 of the PIAA form. This is the re-certification form. This
updates the emergency info, etc. Therefore, we will no longer use the emergency form that we have used in the past.
